Temple Green Park & Ride

Park & Ride is an important element of the Transport Strategy for Leeds, with parking capacity for the city centre vital for the economy of the city.  Park & Ride schemes help to reduce congestion and improve the city’s air quality by reducing the number of cars entering the city centre.

Aire Valley’s Temple Green Park and Ride will complement Elland Road Park & Ride (opened in 2014), catering for trips from the north and east of the city, with access via junction 45 of the M1.

It will also provide a high quality public transport link between the city centre and the City Region Enterprise Zone where up to 7,000 new jobs are planned.

The £8.5m scheme opens Monday 19 June 2017 and is being delivered as part of the West Yorkshire Transport Fund (WY+TF).

Bus service

A high frequency, express bus service using comfortable modern vehicles will use existing and additional bus priority measures to give an average journey time of 15 minutes to the city centre from the Temple Green site.

Stops between Temple Green and the city centre will serve the south bank area before reaching the final stop on Boar Lane in the city centre, convenient for Trinity Quarter and other city centre shops and offices.

Leeds General Infirmary and the universities are also easily accessible as Park & Ride tickets will be valid on Leeds CityBus, with both Park & Ride and Leeds CityBus stops situated within walking distance of each other on Boar Lane.

As with the Elland Road scheme, businesses will be able to purchase discounted Park & Ride travel offers for their staff which may help with parking issues they have on their own premises.
