There’s never been a better time to cycle in West Yorkshire.

Through its £60m CityConnect programme, West Yorkshire Combined Authority is working in partnership to encourage more people to cycle and walk.

Five ways CityConnect can help you:

Bradford – Leeds Cycle Superhighway

Stretching 14km and connecting two of Yorkshire’s major cities, the Bradford-Leeds Cycle Superhighway is the longest continuous route of its kind in the UK. What’s more, because it’s segregated from traffic, the Superhighway is providing more people – regardless of age or ability - with the opportunity to travel by bike.

FREE adult cycle training

Are you looking to boost your skills and confidence on the bike?  From learning to ride to cycling in traffic, tackling busy junctions and roundabouts and bike maintenance – whatever your ability CityConnect have got it covered. They’ll even provide you with a bike when you’re there.

Bike Friendly Businesses

Employees who commute by bike are more productive and take fewer days off sick. CityConnect provide grants of up to £5,000, free expert advice and tailored support to help businesses encourage more staff to cycle to work.

Bike Friendly Schools

From cycle training to installing bike storage and training for staff to help implement cycling activities in school, CityConnect’s tailored Bike Friendly Schools programme is aimed at encouraging more teachers and pupils to cycle to school.

Cycle Challenges

Earn rewards for riding your bike. Take part in year-round challenges and log your rides to win prizes. Businesses can sign up and departments can compete against each other too.

The CityConnect programme is funded through the Department for Transport’s (DfT’s) Cycle City Ambition Grant (CCAG) and local match funding.

Visit the CityConnect website to find out how the team can help you, your school, business or community to cycle more.

Bike and Go

With bespoke cost plans to suit your business, and over 71 participating stations across the UK including Leeds, Bike & Go is the most flexible, affordable cycling scheme available to business users.

Simply pay an agreed fee and your staff will be able to rent a bike from their chosen train station and take it anywhere they want, including business meetings.

Cycle to Work Scheme
