How to use some of the system's more advanced features

You can use yournextbus to find out timetable information for any bus service at any stop, later the same day. You can also use the system to narrow down your search, so that your returned text only gives you information about the bus service you are interested in:

Times for a specific bus service

At bus stops which are served by many different bus services, you may want to receive information only for a specific service number. To obtain times for a specific bus service:

Text Message:

  • You can enter the service number after the stop number to specify only that serviceSelect the option to create a new text message
  • Type in the 8-digit bus stop number, followed by a space, followed by the service number
    e.g. 45010914 95 for bus stop 45010914 and service number 95
  • Send the text message to 63876.
  • The returned message will give you information about the next few 95's to leave that stop.

Times for buses later the same day

It is possible to obtain times for buses later the same day. For this option it is more likely that scheduled timetable times will be returned rather than predicted times, but it's still an excellent option if you want to plan well ahead. To obtain times for buses later the same day:

Text Message:

  • Select the option to create a new text message
  • Type in the 8 digit bus stop number, followed by a space, followed by the 24 hour clock time e.g. 45010914 1700 for bus stop number 45010914 at a time of 5pm
  • Send the text message to 63876.
  • Your returned message will give you details of the next four or five buses that depart from that stop after 5pm.

 

WAP/Website:

  • On the website or on WAP, when you are presented with the pop-up information window, choose the "later departures" option.

Times for a specific bus number later the same day

To obtain information for both a specific service number at a stop and for time later the same day:

Text Message:

  • Select the option to create a new text message Get bus departure times for later in the day by adding the 24hr clock time at the end of your message
  • Type in the 8-digit bus stop number, followed by a space; enter the service number, followed by a space, followed by the 24 hour clock time e.g. 45010914 95 1930 for bus stop number 45010914, service 95 at a time of 7.30pm
  • Send the text message to short code 63876.
  • The returned message will list the next four or five 95's to leave from that stop after 7.30pm

Bus departure times shown later in the day will be shown as scheduled times, rather than real times
