Metro is highlighting to students and young adults
how using buses and trains can be a money-saving move in a new
campaign called 'Moving On?.
'Moving On?' shows young people aged 16-22 considering going on
to sixth form college, university or a new job, just how much they
can save using Metro's School Plus and Student Plus MetroCards and
Scholar's PhotoCards. And it reminds them how by using public
transport, they are also helping to save the environment.
School Plus MetroCard, Student Plus MetroCard, Young Person's
and Scholar's PhotoCard holders can download vouchers for discounts
at outlets including Xscape, Crash Records Subway and LazerZone.
And they can enter a free prize draw to win one of five, £50
cash prizes or one of 50 runner-up prizes of a £15 iTunes
card.
"The discounts available through Metro's School Plus, Student
Plus and Young Person's PhotoCard usually make public transport the
cheapest and easiest way to travel," said Metro Chairman Cllr
Stanley King.
"With so many demands on their time and money - going out with
friends, downloading music and topping up mobile phone credits -
young people, or their parents, have to keep a close eye on their
money," he added.
"Through 'Moving on?' that's exactly what Metro aims to help
them do."
The 'Moving On?' booklet is also available at Metro Travel
Centres in Bradford Interchange, Halifax, Huddersfield and Leeds
Bus stations and from all staffed bus and rail stations.
