With the
introduction of the new Zones, Harrogate (Zone 6) and Skipton (Zone
7) passengers will enjoy the existing season-ticket discounts for
travel into West Yorkshire plus the flexibility of rail travel to
any of the 67 stations in the existing West Yorkshire MetroCard
area.
Prices
A 'Zones 1 to 5 + 6' rail card from
Harrogate will cost £34.00 per week, £131.00 monthly,
£393.00 quarterly and £1,363.00 annually.
A 'Zones 1 to 5 + 7' rail card from
Skipton will cost £39.60 per week, £152.50 monthly,
£457.50 quarterly and £1,587.00 annually.
Passengers can use Metro Zone 6 rail
cards from Hornbeam Park, Pannal and Weeton as well as from
Harrogate and Metro Zone 7 rail cards from Cononley as well as
Skipton.
Partnership
Metro Zones 6 and 7 have been
introduced through the efforts of Metro, Northern Rail and the
Leeds City Region Partnership, which brings together authorities
from across the travel to work area for Barnsley, Bradford,
Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield,
York along with North Yorkshire County Council.

New timetables
Sunday 17 May also saw the
introduction of new rail timetables across the UK. There were a few
changes to West Yorkshire's local services, and engineering works
will affect services on some routes at weekends.
