Tuesday 24 March
Around 70 people attended Metro's
roadshow for businesses and organisations in Leeds on Friday 20
March.
Delegates were able to find out about Metro's
Travel Plan Network, set up to help West Yorkshire employers
promote sustainable ways of travelling to and from work.
They also had the chance to take the
Transport Carbon Footprint Test, try out the 'yournextbus' real
time information service and see Metro's free Metro Messenger
e-mail alert system in action.
People who attended Friday's roadshow
described it as a useful opportunity for making good contacts,
networking and putting faces to names.
Metro Director General Kieran Preston
described the event as 'excellent and truly professional'.
"I was enormously impressed by the
enthusiasm and knowledge shown by Metro staff at Friday's event,"
he said.
Hundreds of people representing local
businesses, Metro's partners and its stakeholders, have attended
similar roadshows in Bradford, Calderdale Kirklees and Wakefield
over the past 12 months.
Anyone who didn't attend a roadshow
but would like to find out how their organisation can get support
in promoting more sustainable ways of travel, can find
further information on the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network web
site.
