    27 July 2009

    Metro Active

Some snorkellers and skateboarders, cricketers and footballers, rugby fans and skaters plus a couple of Leeds Rhinos were at Leeds Bus Station today to launch this summer's Metro Active £1 all-day bus travel offer.

This August, anyone with a Metro Young Person's or Scholar's Photocard will be able to buy a Metro Active ticket and travel all day by bus for just £1. Metro Active can be used for travel anywhere in West Yorkshire after 9.30 am on weekdays and at any time during weekends and Bank Holidays.

Under 11s can take advantage of Metro Active ticket if they are accompanied by a full fare-paying adult.

Metro has sent out posters and thousands of Metro Active leaflets full of ideas of where to go and what to do with Metro Active to schools across West Yorkshire.

"Metro Active means 31 days of bus travel for under 19s all over West Yorkshire for just £1 all day," said Metro Chairman Cllr Ryk Downes. "This means there's absolutely no excuse for anyone to say the words 'I'm bored' this holiday which is great news for all young people and all mums and dads as well."
