Dozens of Halifax & Calderdale business representatives attended a roadshow at Halifax Town Hall on Friday 10 October, to discover what Metro can do for them.
Delegates were able to find how Metro’s West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network can help their organisation reduce its carbon footprint by promoting sustainable ways of travelling to and from work.
They also had the chance to take the Transport Carbon Footprint Test, see Metro’s free Metro Messenger e-mail service in action, try out the ‘yournextbus’ real-time information service and learn about Metro’s Accessibility mapping software.
"Friday's event was a good opportunity for us to talk to people from the Halifax and Calderdale business community and show them how Metro can help them with their travel planning," said Metro's Calderdale spokesperson Councillor Geoff Wainwright.
"We were also able to tell them how they and their employees could use Metro's yournextbus real-time service to find out exactly when their bus is due and the benefits of signing up to our free Metro Messenger email service."
More details about how Metro and it partners' work to support employers promote more sustainable ways of travelling to work can be found on the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network web site.
