Operational since Sunday 14 November, the new Pudsey Bus Station, was officially opened by Metro Chairman Cllr Chris Greaves on Monday 29 November 2010.
The £2.5m bus station funded by Metro and Leeds City Council provides passengers with an enclosed waiting area, improved seating, real-time information screens and level boarding to buses. As well as having improved lighting the scheme is monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. This brings the bus station up to standard with Metro's other bus stations across West Yorkshire, improving the comfort for bus passengers using the new facility.
As well as taking all bus stops of Church Lane, highway improvements associated with the scheme will improve traffic flow through the centre of Pudsey.
This innovatively-designed bus station provides a new centrepiece for Pudsey and a modern, user-friendly facility that will draw bus users to the area.
