The site for the proposed station is New Works Road off Cleckheaton Road in the Low Moor area, approximately 3 miles south west of Bradford city centre. The station will be situated on the Caldervale Line between Bradford Interchange and Halifax Rail Stations. It will be ideally situated to serve the communities on the outskirts of Bradford including Low Moor, Oakenshaw and Wyke by car or bus and the nearer communities by bicycle or foot. The station would also serve the surrounding residential and industrial areas and be located within convenient access of the M62 / M606 junction to attract park and ride users.

    The station would include:

    • Full accessible platforms with footbridge and ramps
    • Approximately 117 space car park with dedicated disabled persons parking bays, drop off point and cycle parking
    • Passenger information displays and public address system
    • Modern waiting shelters, lighting, seating and CCTV
    • Direct access to and from the adjacent Spen Valley Greenway

A public consultation exhibition was held locally in 2011 with over 200 people attending. The purpose of the consultation was to present the proposed plans and to seek feedback. There was an overwhelmingly positive response to the outline designs.
