Three car park extension and enhancement schemes (Crossflatts, Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden) have been approved. The car parks are identified as priorities in the West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan 3 (LTP 3) Implementation Plan. It was annouced in July 2011 that a funding application for Station Commercial Project Facility (SCPF) funding had been successful. The Department for Transport approved the SCPF fund of £100 million nationally to fund station improvement projects by the end of March 2014. The SCPF funding secured for the three car parks will complement the LTP 3 funding to provide £1.8 million of investment. The construction and enhancement works are scheduled to be carried out during 2012.
