    Where to visit

    Middleton Railway
Middleton Railway is the world's oldest continuously working railway. The railway began life back in 1758 and is now a heritage railway run by volunteers from The Middleton Railway Trust Ltd. since 1960. Join us for a ride on one of our Diesel or Steam hauled trains running from the Middleton Railway's headquarters at Moor Road to Park Halt, the latter giving access to the vast 360-acre Middleton Park - 200 acres of which are given over to native woodland. While at Moor Road, visitors can visit the engine shed which contains examples of railway engines built around the Hunslet area. Facilities at the railway are excellent, and as a result the Middleton Railway represents one of the best value for money family days out around.
