This consultation
protocol outlines how Metro engages with partners, stakeholders, customers and
the wider community to seek to ensure that their views are used to inform and
improve service and policy development.
Metro
(West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority) is the Local Transport
Authority for West Yorkshire and also provides advice and support to the Leeds
City Region partnership.
Metro
has sole responsibility for the West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan, which sets
out a 15 year strategy for developing and managing an integrated transport
system that will support economic growth, reduce carbon dependency and improve
quality of life.
Metro
has adopted 12 policies, which set the overall framework for its role in
overseeing the Local Transport Plan and ensuring that transport supports the
wider policy objectives of the West Yorkshire authorities. The following policy
sets out Metro's commitment to consultation:
- Identify and consider, through
consultation and other means, the current and future transport needs of people
who live, work or do business in West Yorkshire, in the planning and provision
of transport infrastructure and services.
