Following consultation and customer feedback, a revised route and timetable will be introduced on Services 900 and 901 from Monday 30 January 2012.
These changes are designed to enhance one of the routes and to
improve value for money by not operating poorly used journeys.
The services will continue to be operated by K-Line.
The key
changes to the service include
- An overall enhancement by
increasing the service level to hourly, Monday to Saturday daytime.
- Operating most journeys via the existing 901 route, thus resulting in
shorter journey times.
- A small number of journeys continue to operate
via Pole Moor, Buckstones and Krumlin (service 900) in order to maintain a
direct link to and from Huddersfield on Mondays to Saturdays. The seasonal
Sunday/Bank Holiday services will continue to operate as service 900.
- Stainland village will be served hourly by service 901 improving services
in the area. Together with existing services 537/538, there will be 2 buses per
hour Monday to Saturday daytime between Huddersfield and Stainland, which will
restore the pre-January 2010 service level.
- Krumlin / Ripponden will be
served by a new hourly service E7. The changes will improve links to Ripponden
from the Barkisland / Krumlin area.
- Journeys on both services 900 and
901 will no longer service the railway stations at Huddersfield and Hebden
Bridge.
- The Sunday and Bank Holiday service will continue to operate
along the route of service 900, operating each Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday
from Easter Sunday until the first Sunday in October.
The
full range of Metro's pre-paid tickets are welcome on this service within West
Yorkshire and ENCS Concessionary passes are also accepted on these services
after 0930 Monday to Friday and all day Saturday.
