Planned engineering or roadworks can affect bus and rail services. Where possible we do our best to notify you of these.

Disruptions to rail travel

Engineering work can affect weekend and Bank Holiday services.

We'll tell you about disruptions to:

  • local services operated by Northern.
  • trans Pennine services via Garforth, Leeds, Dewsbury and Huddersfield operated by First TransPennine Express.
  • long distance services operated by East Coast and East Midlands Trains, together with other Northern services east of the Pennines beyond West Yorkshire.

Rail replacement buses often run during engineering work, but not always directly outside rail stations - check before you travel.

For the most up-to-the-minute information on railway engineering and disruptions, visit the National Rail website or call 08457 48 49 50.
