What is PlusBus?
PlusBus is a ticket that you buy with your
train ticket and gives you unlimited* bus travel around town, at
the start, the finish, or both ends of your train journey. With a
valid PlusBus ticket you can make as many journeys as you like on
participating bus operators services.
You can add PlusBus to most train tickets including:
- single tickets
- day return tickets
You will need to give the date of your return journey to have
PlusBus on your return. You will buy two PlusBustickets, one for
your outward journey and a second for your return journey.
What is the fare?
A PlusBus ticket costs a set amount each day, in addition to
your train fare. Prices start from around £2 a day. Children
(aged 5 to 15 years) pay half-fare for a one-day PlusBusticket.
Extra savings with your Railcard
With a Railcard (Disabled Persons, Family, Network Card, Senior
or Young Persons) you will save one-third off the price of a day,
or period return PlusBus ticket.
How does it work?
Ask for PlusBus when buying your train ticket at the station,
from the conductor or by phone and say whether you want bus travel
at the start, the finish, or both ends of your train journey.
Each town with a PlusBus ticket has one zone covering the
whole urban area. You can travel as much as you
like on participating bus operators services within this zone for
the day stated on your ticekt.
