Metro promotes easy access to all the buses and trains in West Yorkshire through MetroCard.

What are the benefits?

MetroCard is a pre-paid travelcard giving virtually unlimited travel on buses or trains and buses in West Yorkshire (different options available). Benefits include:

• Valid on the services of nearly all operators
• Time-saving, just get on and show your pass
• Highly cost-effective
• Valid at any time of day

The Corporate MetroCard Scheme offers up to 15% off the regular price of a MetroCard - a saving of over £100 per employee, per year (based on an all zones bus and rail MetroCard at 15% off).

You will just need a minimum of five participating employees to be eligible.

The scheme also works well if you operate an advance-of-salary or interest-free loan scheme, allowing employees to pay back the cost through payroll deductions. There are no taxable benefit implications and it means that employees don't have to find the lump sum up front.
