Why do I need a Young Person's PhotoCard?
If you’re aged 11 to 16*, you need a Young Person’s PhotoCard to be eligible for half-fare travel on virtually all buses in West Yorkshire. It also provides your proof of identity if you want to get a half-price rail season ticket.
Without your Young Person's PhotoCard you will have to pay the full adult fare for your journey.

*A Young Person's Photocard is valid until 15 September following the cardholder's 16th birthday.
How much does it cost?
It costs £2 to get your Young Person's PhotoCard.
Where to buy it and what to take with you
Metro Travel Centres, Metro Bus Stations or any Post Office in West Yorkshire.
First time applicants must apply in person at an issuing office.
You need to take:
- completed application form (or pick up and complete a form when you are there).
- recent passport-size colour photograph (face-on not side view!).
- Proof of identity and age, such as your birth certificate or passport.
- £2 fee.
