A Scholar's PhotoCard is for 16 to 18 year old students in full-time education. It is valid from the start of the school or college academic year until the following 15 September or day before your 19th birthday (whichever is first).
You use the PhotoCard to get the following travel within West Yorkshire:
There is a £5 administration fee when you apply for your PhotoCard.

Go to any Bus Station Travel Centre in West Yorkshire to apply. Your smartcard will then be posted to you.
There is a £5 fee to replace a lost or damaged Scholar's PhotoCard. The replacement will have the same expiry date as your previous PhotoCard.

Travel Centre staff will confirm that you are on our database before ordering the replacement. If you are not on the database, you will have to re-apply for a Scholar's PhotoCard.
If your Scholar's PhotoCard has been stolen, report it to the police. They will give you a Crime Reference Number, which you will need to quote when you order your replacement card. There is no charge for replacing a stolen PhotoCard.

With a Scholar's PhotoCard you can travel on all Transdev Keighley & District, Harrogate & District and Coastliner services into and within North Yorkshire.
For Keighley and District services you will be charged half fare.For Harrogate and District and Coastliner service you will receive a third off the fare.
The National Rail Conditions of Carriage allow young people under the age of 16 to travel at half fare on all trains. For travel outside of West Yorkshire, beyond the last West Yorkshire stopping station, full fare is payable for West Yorkshire Scholar's Photocard holders, unless they are in possession of a discounted railcard such as a 16-25 Railcard.
