The School Plus bus-only MetroCard is a new ticket with effect from 18th August 2003. This ticket can only be sold to holders of either a Young Persons or Scholars PhotoCard. The School Plus ticket is a concessionary bus only MetroCard and carries the same conditions of carriage as the Bus MetroCard.
(a) To obtain your first School Plus Bus only MetroCard you will need to obtain a Young Person or Scholars PhotoCard – you should attend in person at a Metro Travel Centre, staffed Bus Station outlets and Post Offices, this ticket is not sold at Train Station outlets.
(b) School Plus MetroCards are sold for use in conjunction with the Young Person & Scholars PhotoCard. School Plus tickets should not be dated to expire after the expiry date on the PhotoCard.
Young Persons PhotoCards are dated to expire on 15th September following the holders 16th birthday. Scholars PhotoCards are issued each academic year and are dated to expire on the 15th September OR up to the day before the holders 19th birthday, whichever is appropriate. Proof of entitlement is required for the Scholars PhotoCard, there is also a West Yorkshire residency qualification.
