On Holmfirth Connection or Meltham Connection bus services, passengers can buy a ticket, First Bus&Rail, on the journey from the Holmfirth or Meltham areas for combined bus and rail travel from these outlying areas of Huddersfield to Dewsbury, Leeds or Manchester.
Tickets are available in day-peak, day off-peak (available after 0900 Monday to Friday all day Saturdays and Sundays) and 7-day weekly formats and are available for both adults and children.

How to by a First Bus&Rail ticket
- Ask the bus driver for First Bus&Rail ticket, for either Dewsbury, Leeds or Manchester.
- Children aged over the aged 11 or overn will need their own Young Person's or Scholar's PhotoCard when purchasing the Child tickets.
- A bus ticket will be issued and will be placed in a special self-laminating wallet .
- The ticket is then valid for a return journey on both the bus between the Holme Valley and Huddersfield or Meltham and Huddersfield and then the train to either Dewsbury, Leeds or Manchester.
- The ticket is only valid on TransPennine Express services and not Northern local services.
- On the train the ticket must be shown to the conductor or revenue protection inspectors when requested. On the return journey to Holmfirth or Meltham the ticket must be shown to the bus driver.
- Without the wallet, the ticket is not valid.
