Metro spends over £36m each year providing concessionary travel for blind, disabled, older and young people.
There are more than 300,000 permit holders West Yorkshire and each year they make some 70 million journeys, for free, 35p or half fare. This represents almost 40% of the 200 million bus journeys made in the county each year.
Metro’s Concessionary Travel scheme is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive in the country and far more generous than the statutory minimum requirement.
