Concessionary Travel
From April 2008
The new English National Concessionary Pass will replace all local authority passes and permits for senior, disabled and blind concessionary passengers, and introduce free, off-peak local bus travel.
Metro has been encouraging its permit holders to send their details in as soon as posssible, to ensure that the new Pass is received by April 2008, and over 215,000 of West Yorkshire's eligible citizens have done so.
The new passes, which are credit card-sized, will be sent out during March 2008, but will only become valid from April 2008, so the existing conditions below still apply.
Until April 2008
You will still need one of Metro's Permits if you are blind, disabled or will reach the age of 60 before 1 April 2008.
Metro's Senior Permit (for men and women aged 60 and over) and Disabled Person's Permit offer these concessions on buses and trains:

Monday to Friday: any journey from 9:30am onwards.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: all day.

Blind Person's Permit holders travel free at all times and free travel is also available for a companion or guide dog when needed.
