Leeds Rail Station - new southern entrance

Metro is currently working closely with Network Rail, local train operators and Leeds City Council on proposals for a new southern entrance to Leeds rail station.

The new entrance would significantly improve pedestrian journey times for station users who currently live or work in, or travel to, the regeneration areas in the south of the city centre such as the Holbeck Village development.

Network Rail are currently working on the development of options for this long-needed scheme with a view to agreeing a single option during the early part of 2008.

The proposals have been identified in Network Rail’s Strategic Business Plan for 2009 - 2014 with a proposed implementation date of 2010/11.
