Metro is working in partnership with Bradford Council and Keighley College to develop a scheme to improve interchange facilities at Keighley Rail Station.
The development of the Dalton Lane site, as part of the Keighley College Development, provides an opportunity to improve interchange between different modes of transport at Keighley rail station.
Proposed improvements include the following:
- Approximately 60 park and ride spaces and cycle parking for rail users on the Dalton Lane site, adjacent to the rail station.
- A direct path from the proposed car park to the Leeds bound platform.
- Improvement to the existing bus stop shelters on Bradford Road.
- Improvements to the station forecourt area.
- Provision of an additional pick up and drop off point.
It is expected that construction works for the Keighley college site will be completed in September 2010 subject to the availability of funding and planning application processes.
