Rail Shelter Replacement - Phase 3

New shelters for rail stations within West Yorkshire now installed

Following on from the success of the first two phases of the Metro-funded rail shelter replacement programme, Metro has recently completed the third and final phase at a cost of £629k.

The scheme has provided new passenger waiting shelters at the following stations:  

  • Berry Brow
  • Crossgates
  • Frizinghall
  • Burley in Wharfedale
  • Mirfield
  • Mytholmroyd
  • Shepley
  • Walsden 

A total of 14 shelters has been replaced.   The works started in Spring 2006 and were completed in November 2006.  The scheme was funded by Metro and delivered by Northern Rail.
