Metro recognises that the "whole journey experience" (from leaving to arriving at the destination), is one of the key things that is considered by people before making a journey and choosing the most appropriate mode of transport.
Over a period of time, there has been a gradual deterioration in the standard and appearance of a number of rail stations within West Yorkshire. Metro developed along with Northern Rail a programme of works for small scale improvements at Batley, Burley Pak, Featherstone, Fitzwilliam, Headingley, Marsden, Mirfield, Mytholmroyd and Streethouse stations to provide a significant improvement in the general appearance and quality of facilities and improving the public's perception of local rail stations. This work is now complete.
