English National Concessionary Pass

West Yorkshire’s over 60s, disabled and blind permit holders can still order their new English National Concessionary Pass for the new scheme which starts on 1 April 2008.

New passes, which will replace the current Metro Senior, Disabled and Blind Permits from April are being introduced across the country as part of a Government scheme which will also give card holders free, off-peak, local bus travel throughout England.

People with Metro Senior, Disabled and Blind Permits will need the new English National Concessionary Passes for the local journeys they currently make as well.  The current permits will phased out and people are advised to replace their permit as soon as possible.

Over 300,000 of West Yorkshire's over 60s, disabled and blind people have already signed up for the new pass and forms are still coming in.

So the message is if you are aged 60 or over, or will be by 1 April 2008, apply now. And if you are not eligible but you have a relative or friend who is, get them to apply now.

Please note that we can no longer guarantee that your new pass will arrive before 1 April 2008, but you will be allowed to continue using your existing permit in West Yorkshire until it arrives. Please go to a Post Office or Bus Station Travel Centre to apply for your pass today.
