The Leeds Country Way is a 62 mile circular waymarked route, taking you on a tour of the beautiful and varied countryside in the Leeds area. It can be started at any point along the way and can be walked in either direction.
The route has been split up into four bite-sized chunks of 4-6 miles - each an easy 2½ hour walk for - and each of the four sections starts and finishes on a route which can be accessed either by a local bus or train service.
The four routes consist of the following sections:
- Golden Acre Park to Barwick-in-Elmet.
- Barwick-in-Elmet to Carlton.
- Carlton to Cockersdale.
- Cockersdale to Golden Acre Park.
And to help you around the route, look out for the owl on the waymarker signs along the route and guide you on your way!
