Keighley museum asks 'who were the Brontes?'

Keighley's Bronte Parsonage Museum asks the question 'who were the Brontes?' in a new exhibition running until April next year.

The aim of the feature is to use new technology to address some of the "myths" attached to the famous literary family.

From 10am-5pm, seven days a week, parents can introduce their children to sisters Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte, who produced such classics as Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

The museum reveals: "The exhibition features samples of Bronte hair which has been analysed by the University of Bradford to determine diet and lifestyles of the Brontes - a fascinating look into the lives of the most famous literary families of all time."

The Bronte sisters were raised in Haworth, near Keighley.

The Keighley Worth Valley Railway can be taken to Halworth at weekends and during the summer.

You can use Metro's Journey Planner to find out how to get to Keighley by public transport.
