Brainiac, the "show that laughs in the face of science", will be back with a bang at St George's Hall in Bradford on Saturday 17 May at 7.30pm.

Sky One's award winning Brainiac is asking audiences to strap on their safety goggles for a live version of one of TV's most volatile shows.

Brainiac: Science Abuse would delve each week into some of the mysteries of science, before ending proceedings by blowing up a caravan.

The team once famously demonstrated it was possible to run across a pool of custard, without breaking the surface.

Originally hosted by Top Gear's Richard Hammond and Big Brother contestant Jon Tickle, it quickly became one of Sky's highest rated shows.

Exploring physics, chemistry and biology, Brainiac made science fun for children and adults alike.

It remains to be seen whether the live show includes exploding caravans.

You can use Metro's Journey Planner to find out how to get to Bradford by public transport.
