Josie Lawrence is set to play a spymaster in Tom Stoppard's Hapgood at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds from Thursday 1 May to Saturday 24 May.
The thriller sees Josie Lawrence, best known for her improvisational talents in Whose Line Is It Anyway? and more recently for her part in teen drama Skins, in the role of Officer Hapgood, a mother juggling a career as a spymaster.
When vital information is leaked to the Russians Hapgood sets up an elaborate scheme to catch the culprit. With only a former Russian spy and a suspected traitor in the frame, all is not as it first seems.
Tom Stoppard is a playwright who has also won critical acclaim for his screenplays and film scripts, most notably Empire Of The Sun, Enigma and Shakespeare In Love, which he co-wrote with Marc Norman and for which he won the Academy Award for best script.
