Construction work on the 4.5 km dual-carriageway Link Road, linking junction 45 of the M1 to the Leeds Inner Ring Road at South Accommodation Road is due to start in November 2006 and be completed by November 2008.
As well as easing congestion, the Link Road will open up major development opportunities within one of the largest regeneration areas in the north of England. It will attract private-sector investment and help create around 30,000 new jobs for Leeds over the next ten to 15 years and will benefit existing businesses in the area by providing direct motorway access.
