You want to travel to Selby or Harrogate by bus and you have either a MetroCard or Young Person's or Scholar's PhotoCards but don't know far you can travel on it or whether it can be used in part payment for the journey?
'The West Yorkshire Guide to Cross Boundary Bus and Train travel' (548k pdf file) explains up to which point your Metro prepaid or concessionary ticket is valid when you are travelling on buses and trains that cross the boundary into East, North or South Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
It shows the cross-boundary services, the location of the fare stage and the approximate locations to and from, which West Yorkshire’s ticketing conditions apply. It also includes a map to help find the cross-boundary locations.
Now you know how far you can travel if you are wanting to travel to/from points outside West Yorkshire its just a matter of paying an additional fare at the start of the journey. This will normally be the full adult fare for the non West Yorkshire section of the journey.
If you do not pay the combined fares at the start of the journey you may be charged the full adult fare for the entire journey.
