4 projects are being funded during 2006-2009 by Yorkshire Forward via the West Yorkshire Rural Partnership.
Rural Transport and Accessibility Officer

A WYRTP Progress Report and Action Plan was produced in November 2007. The Action Plan lists all the transport issues which were identified by consultation through the West Yorkshire Rural Transport Partnership. Appendix B of the report, the West Yorkshire Rural Transport Map, shows those areas which qualify for rural transport funding.

West Yorkshire Rural Interchange / Infrastructure Project
This project involves investment in rural interchanges and public transport infrastructure to improve accessibility for people wishing to access key services. There is £150,000 available over a three year period.
Members of the West Yorkshire Rural Transport Partnership have been asked to identify potential rural sites which require investment and Metro has produced a programme of work based upon research.
West Yorkshire Rural Roadshow Project
The Rural Roadshow Project aims to take vital services into rural areas to reduce the need for people to travel.
9 individual mobile service projects were supported during 2007/8. Grants were awarded for a variety of things including purchasing new vehicles, purchasing essential equipment, research and publicity etc. The Rural Roadshow Report for 2007/8 is now available.
Research for this project has identified a large number of existing mobile service providers throughout West Yorkshire, notably mobile libraries, mobile youth units and information buses. All operators have been invited to join a West Yorkshire Mobile Service Network. For further details about the network please contact Clare Davies on 0113 251 7413.
