The bus that stops where you want!

MetroLocal is a new concept in local bus travel that provides essential links within the community they serve such as shops, post offices, supermarkets and community centres where regular bus services can not serve.

All services operate on the popular 'hopper' basis where the bus stops where you want it to do - providing it is safe to do so - and operate a flat fare of £1.00 per adult (50p per child) per journey!

All buses are identifiable by their red and white livery, the same as MetroConnect services.

The small bus making a big difference!

Since MetroLocal was launched in December 2007, users in the Spen Valley area have taken to their MetroLocal services in their droves and the following are some of the comments we've receieved back about the service:

"The bus service is very good, we do not have to carry heavy bags quite a distance”.

”I think that this bus service is a very useful thing, especially for the elderly. It saves them from crossing the main road seeing how the traffic at this stage seems never-ending".

”The Hopper bus is brilliant. The driver is very friendly... Only complaint is we go to town more and thus spend more. It's so much easier than taking a car as the bus drops us nearly in the supermarket’s doorway”.
