Running every ten minutes from 7.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday and from 8.30am to 5.0pm on Saturdays, Metro's FreeCityBus in Wakefield links key locations around Wakefield city centre including Westgate and Kirkgate train stations, the bus station, shops and retail parks. This includes the Ridings Centre along with the Ings Road, Cathedral and Westgate Retail and Leisure Parks.

The three, low-floor, 29 seat single-deck vehicles with CCTV coverage for the service, which is being operated initially as a six-month trial and has been jointly developed between Metro and Wakefield Council.

All journeys on FreeCityBus are free.
