Every time someone access a web page or other resource on one of our sites, it is recorded in a daily logfile. At the end of each month, the logfiles are analysed, so that we can see which are the most popular parts of the web sites, and how many items of information we've delivered.
Because of the way our sites are delivered, the totals for all the external sites are combined. Metro owned or managed web sites are http://www.wymetro.com/; http://www.wypta.gov.uk/; http://www.wyltp.com/; http://www.pteg.net/; http://www.wytravelplan.com/ and http://www.generationm.co.uk/. www.wymetro.com has by far the highest amount of traffic, at around 93%.
The figures below show the total number of impressions per month and the average number of impressions each day during that month.

For our purposes, web pages and .pdf files are counted as information. Images that appear in a page are not, as they generally do not carry any information that is already in the body of the web page. This total is sometimes called the number of 'page impressions', or 'pages delivered'. It is the best way of comparing web sites, as some sites will carry more images than others.
Performance Monitoring
Metro uses a web site monitoring, reporting and alerting service provided by Axzona to ensure our sites are available and performing satisfactorily.
These results were independently gathered by Axzona's monitoring agents set up around the country. This verifies the availability and performance of our web sites from the point of view of our users.
